How to Color a Mandala

  • Start in the middle and work outwards, one ring at a time.
  • Pick three or four colors and repeat them all the way round a ring. The pattern does the rest.
  • Leave some shapes white. It makes the colored ones stand out.

  • Sunset: Coral, Apricot and Butter, with Plum in the center.
  • Sea: Cobalt, Teal and Sea glass, with Sand between the rings.
  • Garden: Leaf, Fern and Pink, with Butter for the dots.
  • Evening: Slate, Lavender and Ice, for a soft blue-gray look.

What Is a Mandala?

Mandala is the Sanskrit word for circle. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, a mandala is a sacred design, often a circle around a center point. The mandalas here are simpler: circular patterns drawn for coloring, with no religious meaning intended.
